Love this little place! I love finding restaurants that are not in the repertoire of the local foodies. This is a great place. Really busy, and the worst thing about it is its loud - Lots of OOBers with lots of kids. But, if you get the pleasure of showing up on a non crowded night, enjoy the dining experience ahead. Chef-owned, and the chef really cares about his dishes. The menu is not pretentious - just well crafted. Delicious and creative meals with every day products. You can actually identify the foods on the menu! Amazing Sangria, house made. If it wasn't such a struggle to get a table here, I would go weekly. Its a really good dinner.

Not really sure what the high ratings are about, but this completely missed expectations, given the high remarks and price. Arrived at our reservation time and was not acknowledged as we stood around for about 5 minutes- the hostess was a bit frazzled. Guess the Rev3 Tri had them busier than normal. I ordered the linguini with shrimp (from the early eve. menu) and added a soup of the day for $4. Linguini was very small, bland, with 3 decent sized shrimp on top. Wife ordered the stuff baked lobster, and it was really just breadcrumbs sprinkled on top (or should i say, the belly) of a smallish lobster. Potato leek soup was good though. Service was severely lacking. Asked for water a few times, never got it. Server came over maybe once. Asked for the check, waited another 10 minutes. What is with these "casual fine dining places"? The experience was similar to the one we had at Joseph's by the Sea last year. Seemed to be a bit full of themselves, meanwhile, the food is not that good. When the check finally arrived, i noticed he charged me full price for the soup ($8.95), instead of the $4 add on price. I mentioned it to him, and a few minutes later he came back and said it was chowder, not the soup of the day. I told him that YOUR menu said "soup of the day". he again repeated it was the chowder, and i AGAIN repeated thats not what your menu said. after that little back and forth, he decided to go check the menu, and low and behold- i'm right (go figure). He comes back with the corrected check and apologized (thankfully), and mentions he was off last week, and they must've changed it then (uh-huh...). Anyway, avoid this place. Pricey, stuffy and food not that good. You're better off getting something from one of the stands near the beach, cheaper and more delicious.

They have an excellent Atlantic Halibut in a cream sauce! The lobster's were quite disappointing in size and flavor. Excellent service, waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and was interactive with guest's. Food was definitely three stars, but service was four or five stars!

When we walked into the restraunt the hostess told us approximately half of the menu was unavailable.

OMG. Best dinner we had at OOB. Service was phenomenal. My husband had the duck and said it was the BEST he has had. David was the BEST server. Charming, charismatic!

Very good food, excellent service, many wonderful choices on the menu. The ambiance is relaxing and artfully done in an understated way. Be sure and check out the paintings, too. The best we've found in Old Orchard Beach--going back again tomorrow. Best if you make a reservation.

This is the best restaurant in town. Delicious food, great service and pleasant atmosphere. It looks a bit dingy from the outside, but don't be put off-it's wonderful.

We had dinner here the other night and everything was excellent! The service was wonderful, the food was thoughtful and creative. Great portions and flavors! Try the seafood chowder, it's incredible! Plus you can add a lobster to your meal for only $7. It's an old house that they renovated and filled with cool paintings and decor. We were glad to find such a place in a town full of pizza and French fry shops. We will definitely be back when we're in town!

We ate there 2 times in one week and both are memorable. I had the mixed grill both times with the add on lobster - a lot of food and wonderful. A must try.

Fantastic meal. I had the Angus strip cooked perfectly. My wife had the stuffed lobster and that was amazing. Wait staff very friendly and prodessional. Definitely a must stop while in Old Orchard Beach.

Awesome server at the landmark she was very sweet. The food was delicious, a great escape from all the overly delivered fried food. We had the special haddock bites with a lime aioli and Caesar salad for appetizers. One of the better Caesar salads I've had in awhile. And for dinner we shared the special haddock topped with shredded lobster and baked in a lobster cream sauce and the duck with a ginger honey lime sauce. All in all very yummy! Also, very cute decor, almost inside of a small house with an indoor deck... Wouldn't recommend large parties.

We were in town and drove by and saw outdoor dining, we figured we would give it a go. They have an outdoor and indoor menu. I really prefer to eat my lobsters outside where I am not crackin lobsters all over a table cloth! The food was delicious! The service was great! And we went back again the following night! They remembered us and took good care of us! Highly recommend it! It's like eating at a friends back yard lobster bake!

Every summer for years now my family has come to Maine to vacation and the Landmark has always been one of my favorite places to eat. However, last night I was incredibly let down. I ordered the baked haddock special with ratatouille and mashed potatoes. It arrived so burned my mother actually thought the vegetables on top of my haddock were bread crumbs. The fish underneath was dry and bland. My brother's fiance ordered the same dish and hers came out just as overcooked. The potatoes on the other hand were delicious--but cold! My boyfriend ordered the coconut mahi-mahi that was so sweet it should have been a dessert. He could not eat the coconut topping. The mahi-mahi itself was very unspectacular. I ended up eating my father's panko fried scallops that were very good. We also had a crabcake appetizer that was superb so I am hoping it was just a fluke but I am still quite disappointed by my experience.

The Landmark did a great job of accommodating our large part yesterday. It's always harder to go out to eat when you have eight other people trailing behind you, but they were able to put together a few tables, and give us our own room so that we were able to enjoy our meal more privately. They got our meals out quickly and we devoured them. The consensus for best meal was a tie between the mixed grill, and the rosemary chicken. Their steamed mussels were a great appetizer in addition to the baked goat cheese on bread, which was on their specials for the night...you wouldn't want to miss it! We were really happy with out server as well. All around, a superb evening for large group.

Had a wonderful dinner at The Landmark. Made sure we requested a table in David's section again this year. Definitely try the Goat Cheese appetizer. Outstanding. For a main course I had the halibut and loved it. My husband had the sirloin steak and it was cooked to perfection. Nicely spiced and tender. This victorian house has such charm. Lovely ambiance. Make sure to stop here while visiting OOB. Best restaurant in town. Ask for David and you will have a wonderful time.

Poorly handled, 5 dollar difference, Poorly seated. After spending a good while trying to find a place to eat dinner, we ended up at the Landmark. We were disappointed by the fact that we had to pay for parking... At the resturant, it was fairly busy as there was a wait, but somehow we got a table of 8, before a group of 5 were seated. As said before, not that it was that busy, it took forever to get started with drinks and ordering food. (While waiting, I noticed the lack of decor in the room we were seated in. The candles at our tables were not out and that bothered me, don't ask why.) We ordered our meals and appetizers, as well. And again we waited... We had ordered an appetizer salad for two. When it came out, it was very small, especially for the price of it. My father had ordered a Classic, which is stuffed lobster with scallops and shrimps. He ended up just getting a lobster body with the shrimp and scallops. There were no lobster meat, as it was overcooked... yet they still served it to my dad. He wasn't going to wait another 45 minutes for the Classic so he ended up getting just the lobster. The second time around was delicious! The checks came around and my dad noticed that one number was just too high... He was charged for the Classic, which was overcooked and sent back, but not charged at the price of the lobster, which was still a $5 difference. He just wanted to point that out to waitress/management. They would not change the total and still charged my dad for the Classic. It was poorly handled. The $5 difference left us a dissatisfied customers...

I went here a few years ago and ended up with an early bird menu. I got the shrimp scampi. While the scampi was delicious, it was a smaller portion, and I did not feel myself satisfied. Also, the prices were pretty high for an early bird menu. This is probably one of the fancier restaurants in the area, yet it's literally confined within a repurposed house. People literally line up out the door to go here, and if you walk by, you can see the chefs working on the patio dinners in the giant pots. Bottom line is, would I go back? If I had to. But with the prices so high and the food not living up to my expectations, it's not a place I would rush back to or write home about. While it is pretty decent, I do not find myself inherently wowed by the food, atmosphere, anything in a town where there is food places on every corner.

My husband got take out from the Landmark one night on out Honeymoon, he ordered two meals and asked them to both be made gluten free since I have a bad allergy to gluten. The meals were very good. I had a fish dish covered with coconut and my husband has scallops with a nut topping. We shared both meals, the next day I didn't feel well at all, I pushed through the day and we decided to go to The Landmark for dinner since their food was good. I ordered the scallops with the nut topping and asked for it to be made gluten free, when my dish arrived it had no topping. The night before the dish was made incorrectly which caused me to my sick two days of my honeymoon. The food here is great but they need to be more carful about food allergies.

We ate on the patio last night, which was nice. The tables were a little tight but we made it work. The menu is different out on the patio, which was fine as we only really wanted lobster. The prices were very reasonable, two lobsters for $19.00. The food was good, the service was ok. The poor waitress accidentally spilled drawn butter on a woman in our party. The owner/manager was nice enough to offer to professionally clean her outfit.

Great food, great service. The summer salad is amazing and anything off the patio menu is exceptional. Only had the salmon and halibut from the indoor menu but both were tasty. David is a doll and the rest of the staff were extremely kind and attentive. We've gone 3 times in less than a week and we will be back before the week is over.

Everything we got was so wonderful. Our cocktails were good! & the bread was even delicious, I ordered the seafood bake, OMG. I can't even begin. Was haddock, shrimp, & scallops baked with breadcrumbs in a lobster sauce, everything was cooked so perfectly, & was so flavorful!! Came with a side of home made mashed potatoes, perfect. & THE most perfect cooked veggies. Mother ordered Rosemary chicken with rice & veggies that was even wonderful! Our waiter was great also. This chef knows what she's doing in there!! Please eat here & support such a wonderful restaurant full of great staff & great food! You won't leave disappointed AT ALL!!

One of the few good restaurants in old orchard beach. Shrimp cocktail was great as was the lobster. Nice atmosphere and good service

We went in and we were great right away by this lady saying there are two different menu's. I said why? she said this menu is for the outside and this ones for the inside. They were two different menu's which i thought was very confusing and frustrating for someone who wanted to sit outside but wanted what was on the menu inside , could not order it. So we went inside. The temperature was very comfortable. It was a nice place so you had better be dressed nice. :) It was a nice place to eat, however, the people could have been more accommodating. I asked for a pitcher of water , but instead the waiter came back with bigger glasses and didn't explain as to why we couldn't have the picture. Matter of fact, he said nothing at all. However, the price of the food was above average, but it wasn't ridiculously expensive. The food tasted OK and the atmosphere was good. I would go back again, but hopefully a little bit better experience next time .

This restaurant requires casual dress, but the service is leisurely and it's clearly a "nice evening out" place for the area. The prices are fairly . . .pricey. You can wear your Jeans, but it should be your good jeans with stylish boots, not the baggy ones with holes in them and your sneaks. Apparently. The setting is an old home with a finished enclosed porch - there are lots of lamps and paintings of the ocean. It is dim and they have candles. I walked in with four hungry kids at 6 on a Friday night. Probably not the super best mom choice I've ever made, but I wanted wine. *&(# it all. Only one of the kids was under 12. Does that make it better? Yes. It was not 4 toddlers. Don't Judge. We were put in the part of the restaurant that used to be the house, which is effectively it's own little room. That kept the teenage angst contained. The menu apparently had no "normal" food on it. Really? I'll have the Argentinian Malbec. What, there are children here? *sip* I had the lobster stew. It was mostly cream and sherry, which is of course, what it is supposed to be like. There was nothing else in it but 6 little chunks of lobster, so I would have more called that lobster bisque. And, it was just fine taste-wise. I ate every drop. I also had the salad special of the night, which was large and tasty - a standby at most of these kind of 'new american" restaurants theses days. .. the baby greens thing with red onions, dried cranberries and candied pecans. Around the table there was pasta with red sauce, fried clams with fries, chicken fingers with fries. All was fine. There was also ice cream and a white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Service for our table would have been ok for a couple quietly chatting and gazing into each others eyes, probably. For us, it was slow, and I felt forgotten several times. But hey, it's not what I'd call a family place. Maybe I'll come back sometime on my own, or with someone to chat quietly with. The food I had was decent, and they had a reasonable wine list.

We have been going here for years now. At least twice during our annual fall vacation. The haddock chowder is beyond compare. I love their sirloin steak. Exquisite decor. Best Creme de Brûlée we've had. Good waitstaff.

Uh oh, the landmark is slipping. We used to think of it as a hidden gem among the fried food and pizza places in OOB - but this year they lost us. Service was extremely slow (this was during the week - not on a weekend), plus a bit unprofessional. The food was mediocre (but you'd never know that by the high prices). While the atmosphere is unique and has potential, in a huge old house with several "rooms" the problem is there is no easy way to light it and air condition it. We were uncomfortably hot while waiting (forever) for our meal. We were really disappointed by the food, the service, and the price. Though I guess if the food and the service were up to the standards of our previous visits, we wouldn't have cared about the price. Isn't that always the case? We're just looking for a good value. Thankfully - our disappointment over not having a great meal while in OOB faded fast when we visited Joseph's by the Sea a couple of nights later!

Oh my fellow patrons. This place is it! Sit back, relax and enjoy a bomb meal cooked with care. Fine dining in OOB and cheers to this crew. We had the appetizer special, baked goat cheese......straight up awesome. My fiancé had the salmon and I took up a prior yelper on the coconut Mahi mahi. His wife was right! I would drive back from Rhode Island for it! Unreal! So fresh and so clean with the fruit salad side and waffle cone. Cheers to the crew from your friend Bill!

I must say the lobster stew was so incredible, rich and creamy! I had the baked lobster was good but a tad much after my stew, my husband was very happy to finish my meal. The strawberry salad was awesome

Ate outside with the family and had a fantastic time. The seating staff, cooks, & waiter were friendly, attentive, & helpful. We shared a bunch of perfectly chilled shrimp cocktails with spicy cocktail sauce, a bottle of wine, & delicious blueberry cornbread! Every one ordered the twin lobster dinner with corn on the cob. Really fantastic! We finished the evening with several desserts and coffee's. Thank you so much for the most excellent evening! We highly recommend! 5 stars!

We had a party of 24 and each and everyone one of us had a fabulous meal and outstanding service. They will accommodate you anyway they can with pleasure. That includes children and special menu requests. LOVE this place!!!

If you want fresh seafood, attentive and friendly service, and the local feel, then head over to The Landmark. By far the best "date" spot in OOB and the food, presentation, and wine pairings set this place apart in an area that desperately needs a standout five star restaurant. Try the mussels marinara, twin lobster, pasta, cesar salad, and fresh made to order bread. Ask for a table in Maryanne or David's section and enjoy a spectacular evening on the beach.

I am a life long visitor to OOB and very sorry that my first visit to the Landmark was only last night! We were greeted at the door by a pleasant, well spoken lady. Service was friendly, prompt and professional. Drinks were, er, substantial. My friend ordered the blackened swordfish and I ordered a lobster ... Both dishes were perfect. Sides of vegs were fresh and tasty. Best restaurant in OOB ... And I've been around!!
